Fikisha Renée Alcéna (Kisha) was born in the afternoon on Monday, November 5, 1979, at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach Florida. She was very proud of her Haitian heritage and loved learning about her family's culture. Kisha lived in many states as a child, yet she mostly grew up in New York State from the age of 2- months living in many of the diverse settings (urban, suburban, rural).

She graduated in 1997 from Delaware Valley Central School (DVCS) in Callicoon, NY. Her high school years were active with track-and-field, choir, soccer, cheerleading, and various in-school and after school clubs. Her school days were treasured and memorable. Her relationship with her schoolmates was lifelong. Kentucky State University offered her independence and a stimulating learning environment. She was active in college life and participated in choir and pageants highlighting her talents. After graduating with a Bachelor of Art Degree in English, she lived in Kentucky. Kisha lived in the state for 12 years.

In 2010 Kisha became a mother and moved to Alabama. She loved motherhood with 3 boys and had a passion for teaching them life-skills and lessons for academics. Kisha’s boys were the center of her life. All three boys have her joy for life. They maintained a close, dear, and very loving relationship with her. As the oldest sibling she enjoyed being a big sister and instilled that sibling love in her sons. She wanted to be everything she dreamed a mom should be. Her life was a testimony that a mother’s love means sacrificing for your children to have a better stand in life. Being a single mom is tough, some know that for her the load was tougher. She was strengthened with each challenge along her path.

Kisha loved to laugh especially when life seemed tough. She found many outlets for her expression of feelings through drawing, writing, singing, design, poetry, and spoken word. Those who knew her, knew she loved deeply and advocated for everyone she cared for. She also loved animals, music, and nature. She did not like being bored. She loved NYC, its energy, people, culture, art, the parks and in particular Harlem. She was 40, passionate, creative, cheerful, funny, outgoing, silly at times and just simply very lively.

She entered heaven, on Tuesday morning July 21, 2020. Kisha is no longer in pain and her soul can find peace and rest while watching over her three boys, as well as her other loved ones. Family would like to thank all who have reached out with condolences and support, along with a special appreciation to close family friends Adam Grace, Rodney Broome, Courtney Cleveland-Bloome, Ty Higgins Barnett, LiAndrea Goatley, and Courtney Carr for their support.
