Marion Cunningham

Marion Cunningham, 106, of Parsons, formerly of Rochester, NY, died at 7:52 A.M., Monday, January 10, 2022 at the home of her son and daughter in-law, Don and Amy Cunningham.
She was born March 16, 1915 at Rochester, NY, a daughter of Clifford Thomas and
Addie Estella (Smith) Cutton. She grew up at Brockport, NY and attended school there. She graduated from the Brockport Normal School and worked as a nanny. She later worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the Strong Memorial Hospital at Rochester.

On June 25, 1938 she and Robert Cunningham were united in marriage at Brockport, NY. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2003.

She was a member of the Greece Baptist Church at Greece, NY and taught Sunday school there many years. She also was a Cub Scouts Den Mother and later was a member of the troop auxiliary. She was also a member of the local and district Parents Teachers Association for more than forty years and worked with the Board of Elections. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, writing letters, collecting salt and pepper shakers, putting together photo scrapbooks and slide shows of family vacations across the United States.

Survivors include: one son and daughter in-law – Donald and Amy Cunningham, Parsons, KS; three grandchildren – Curtis Cunningham, Fayetteville, NC, Brienne Cunningham, and her companion, Gus, Parsons, KS, Lance Cunningham, and his wife, Kelsey, Bentonville, AR; six great-grandchildren – Mac, Milo, Maelyn, Kolbie, Koen and Kollins; one brother and sister in-law – Donald and Lois Cutton, Odessa, NY; one sister – Jayne Albert, Salem, OR. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son – Glenn Robert Cunningham, who died August 1, 1971 and one sister – Lillian Bird.

Calling hours will be held 12-1 PM, May 18 concluding with a funeral service at 1 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Greece Baptist Church of Greece, NY, the Southeast Kansas Respite Services (SEKRS) or to the American Diabetes Association.
