M. Jane Dobles

Greece – Passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on Saturday February 22, 2020, surrounded by family. Jane was predeceased by her loving husband Bob of 66 years. Survived by her children Judy (Barry Akin) Dobles, Tom (Betsy) Dobles and Janet (John) Carr; grandchildren Lindsay (Jeremy) Roderick, William Dobles, Casey Carr, Jacob (Brittney) Carr, Marion Dobles and Mitchell Carr; and great-granddaughter Riley Roderick.

Jane grew up in Centreville Michigan with her parents Doctor and Mrs. Russell Addison Springer and brother Robert. Following her graduation from the University of Michigan in 1947, Jane relocated to Rochester N.Y. where she met the love of her life on a blind date. Jane married Robert W. Dobles on October 14, 1950 and they settled in Greece to raise their family.

Jane’s life was based on faith, family and friends. She served as a Life Deaconess at Greece Baptist Church. Over many decades Jane was actively involved in numerous bridge clubs, golf leagues and the P.E.O. The camaraderie she established with many dear friends brought her great joy. As a longtime member of the YMCA, Jane faithfully swam a mile daily.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday February 27th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Farrell-Ryan Funeral Home (777 Long Pond Road, Greece N.Y.). A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday February 28th at Greece Baptist Church (1230 Long Pond Road, Greece N.Y.). Donations in Jane’s memory may be made to Greece Baptist Church or to the Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf.
