Yvonne A. Dohr

Passed peacefully from this life on Monday, September 28, 2020 at age 84. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Donald P. Dohr; her children Debbie (Jim) Sexton, Vicki Waller, Denise (David) Kuhn, Donny W. (Mary) Dohr and Herb (Joanne) Dohr; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Wanda Jones of Duluth, MN, brother-in-law Richard and sister-in-law Marlene Dohr of Naples, FL; many nieces and nephews. She met her husband in the USO while he was serving in the Air Force during the Korean War. After being wed they moved to Rochester, NY where she led a full life. After her first career as a mother of 5, she entered college life and graduated at age 55, magna cum laude, from SUNY Brockport with a Masters in social work. She retired after 15 years of social work to continue working as a volunteer at the Salem Nutrition Center's soup kitchen, Park Ridge Hospital's gift shop, and Greece Public Library. She was very active at St. Theodore's Church as a eucharistic minister, food pantry volunteer, member of the Rosary Society, and sang in the choir. She was a member of the Gates Senior Club and a lifetime member of the Mothers Club which began at St. Charles Borromeo parish in 1962.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caring nurses and staff at Fresenius Medical Care and Park Ridge Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Salem Nutrition Center. Friends may call on Thursday October 1, 4-7 at Farrell-Ryan Funeral Home 777 Long Pond Road. Funeral mass Friday October 2, 9:30 at St. Theodores church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
