Barbara Kier Stifter

Passed away on October 20, 2026, at the age of 89. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Emil Edward and Marguerite Ellen Kier; brother, Charles Emil Kier; sisters-in-law, Alice Kier and Rosemary Kier; and nephew, Mark Stifter.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Kier; brothers, Edward J. Kier and Richard L. (Bonnie) Kier; sister-in-law Theresa Kier; along with several loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great niece.

Barbara was a lifelong member of Holy Apostles Church, proudly representing the third generation of her family to belong to the parish. Her Catholic faith remained an important part of her life, guiding her commitment to her church and community. Barbara dedicated 28 years of service to Catholic Family Center and the Diocese of Rochester, including her work with Bishop Sheen, before her retirement. Her years of service reflected her depth of faith and dedication to helping others.

Calling hours will be held October 31st 11 AM - 12:30 PM at Holy Apostles Church followed by her Funeral Mass at 12:30 at Holy Apostles Church, 7 Austin Street, Rochester. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to the Holy Apostles Memorial Fund, or St. Jude’s Children's Hospital.
