David G. Proud
Greece - Passed away unexpectedly in Delray Beach, FL. on March 15, 2019 at the age of 82. David is predeceased by his son, David W. and his sister, Delores; he leaves behind his devoted wife of 58 years, Mary, Patricia "Pat" McGarrity Proud; children, Timothy (Sue) Proud, Julie (Robert) Luedke and Jeffrey (Terri) Proud; grandchildren, Timothy, Erika (Curt) Despard, Robert, Kirsten, Jeffrey, Sara, Jake, Kelly, Ryan; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Elliott Despard; daughter-in-law, Tes; step-grandchildren, Kim, Lisa & Angelo Muratore; step-great-grandchildren, Bella, Marky & Geno; brothers, Ronald and Gary; beloved cousins, Joan White and Donald Neary; along with several nieces, nephews and dear friends. David will be fondly remembered as a loving and hard working family man. He was happiest surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He served "proudly" both as a United States Marine and the Monroe County Legislator representing the 5th District Town of Greece. He retired from RG&E in 1994. He will be sorely missed by family and friends who loved him dearly. Friends may call Sunday, March 24th 1-4PM at Farrell-Ryan Funeral Home, 777 Long Pond Rd. On Monday friends are asked to go directly to St. Mark's Church, 54 Kuhn Rd. at 10:30 for the Celebration of his Life. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #468.
