Ernest "Ernie" Francis Casserly

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Ernie, who died at the age of 57. He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest Sr. and Margaret Casserly.

To Helen, Ernie was more than a husband - he was her steady place, her refuge, and her home. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in laughter, loyalty and deep companionship. At home, he was happiest beside Helen and their beloved cats, Milo and Lilly - Ernie finally having the lap cat he always wanted.

Ernie was one of a kind and deeply loved. Truly a special man. He had the gift of connection and brought energy, light, and humor to every conversation. Endlessly curious, he delighted in discovering and bringing home food from various cultures for Helen and his friends to try. His generosity and loyalty defined him. Beneath it all was a courageous heart - once helping to save a woman’s life, an act that reflected the depth of his character.

Ernie also leaves behind his siblings, Kevin (Leah) Casserly and Patricia (Greg) Bieck. He is remembered with affection by his nieces, nephews, and cousins in the United States, the United Kingdom and Ireland, and by the loyal friends who stood beside him throughout the years. Ernie will be deeply missed, yet his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him and in the stories of laughter, generosity, and joy that he so freely shared.

A gathering to remember, honor, and celebrate his life will be held later this summer.
