Fulvia E. Alvarez passed away on November 3, 2024. She is predeceased by her parents, Antonio and Faustina. Survived by her children Dr. Gregory (Lori) Alvarez and Renee (Darren) Walton; grandchildren Grant (Danielle) and Alexander (Madison) Alvarez, and Noah and Regan Walton; great grandson Baker Alvarez; brother Rene՛Ibarra; and many cousins and nieces.
Fulvia was a devoted mother, grandmother, cousin, and friend. Fulvia was born on August 18, 1932 in Panama. She came to the United States in 1960 and worked for many years as a respiratory technician at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center until her retirement in the 90s. She enjoyed watching any sporting event that was on TV -especially the Yankees and the Bills, crocheting and cross-stitching, and cooking her famous chicken and rice. Fulvia always loved making memories with her family in New York and Georgia. She was known as ‘Grandma’ to everyone in her life and was a grandma to all friends of her grandchildren. She consistently opened her heart and door to those who needed it.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, November 16 at 10:00 am at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 North Greece Road, Rochester, NY 14626.
St. Jude was Fulvia’s Patron Saint.
In lieu of flowers, Fulvia would like a mass said in her honor or donations made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
