Gary Mitchell passed away on May 27, 2025. He was 85 years old and two weeks away from his 60th wedding anniversary.
Gary earned a BS in chemistry in 1962 from CalTech and a PhD in chemistry in 1967 from MIT, where he met his wife, Joanne. He spent a long and fruitful career at Eastman Kodak as a research chemist.
He was a devoted family man and also enjoyed fly fishing, mountain climbing, and bicycling in his free time. He passed his life-long love of the outdoors onto his two sons, as well as his belief that you can, and should, fix everything yourself.
Gary is survived by his wife, Joanne; sons Greg (wife Cherie) and Jeff; and grandchildren Aniela, Charlotte, and Joe.
