Gloria Marie Sidoti entered into rest on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Highland Hospital, Rochester, NY. Gloria was born in Trechtingshausen, Germany April 9, 1947 to the late Michael H. Sidoti and Katherine F. (Junck) Sidoti. Gloria grew up primarily in Scottsville, NY a suburb of Rochester, but also lived in Corpus Christi, TX, Marlboro, MA, Tonawanda, NY, Evans, GA and more recently back in her home city of Rochester, NY. Prior to her death she was a resident of Evergreen Place, an assisted living community in Brockport, NY.

Gloria worked for many years at Schlegel Corp in the Rochester area as a Customer Service Rep as well as a product manager in the Building Products Group/Window division and as an engineering assistant at the Savannah River Site in South Carolina at the US Dept of Energy Industrial Complex. Gloria was also an executive assistant to the VP at Viewlogic Systems located in Marlboro, MA and a customer service rep at Greenfield Industries in Evans, GA. She was a graduate of Alfred State College and the Rochester Institute of Technology as well as a member of the Delta Chi Omega sorority focusing on community service and philanthropy.

Gloria enjoyed arts & crafts, reading mysteries and playing board games. In her youth she was active in her community working with the local food pantry and distributing “back pack” meals to school children. She also enjoyed camping, bowling, volleyball and softball as well as telling stories and reading to her niece & nephews when they were children. She especially enjoyed vacationing on Cape Cod, MA.

She is survived by her step-mother, Sandy Sidoti of Scottsville, NY, Lorraine A. Krause (Charlie) of Greece, NY, Victoria C. Mattscheck (Doug) of Lexington, MA, niece and nephews Michael Krause of Brockport, NY, Christopher Mattscheck of Lexington, MA, Katie Mattscheck of Boston, MA and John Mattscheck of Middlebury, CT, cousins Steve Hood (Paul) of Waterloo, NY, Leslie (Steve) Childs of Webster, NY and Alan Hood of Bowling Green, KY as well as several first and second cousins of Trechtingshausen, Frankfurt and Neuwide, Germany. Gloria’s sister, Carol Ann Sidoti predeceased her in 2005.

There will be no prior calling hours or a funeral service. A memorial “get together” for Gloria will take place at Greece Baptist Church Meeting Hall (1230 Long Pond Rd. Rochester, NY 14626) on June 18th, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 pm. Family and friends may RSVP Lori Krause or Vicki Mattscheck by June 1st if they plan to attend. We’re hoping everyone will have a special memory of Gloria to share. If you cannot attend but would like to share a special memory to be read during the service please contact Lori (tugclm56@gmail.com) or Vicki (lebrun36@aol.com).

Summer Fellowships: Programs like SURF and the Summer Scholars Program offer opportunities for students to conduct research under faculty mentors.

Academic Research Track (ART): A dedicated research year for medical students, often funded by the school.
