Predeceased by his sister, Betty and her husband, Major John Rubins; daughter-in-law, Valarie Burris; Survived by the love of his life - his wife, Janet; children, Gregory (Susan), David, Donald, Lori (Robert) Scarrott, John "Jack" (Denise); 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; an aunt, nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Monroe County Volunteer Firemen's Association, Northern Central Volunteer Firemen's Association, an active member at Barnard Exempt Fire Department, a member of FASNY and a member of the American Legion Post #468.

Friends may call Friday 3-7 at the funeral home, 777 Long Pond Road (between English & Latta). Funeral Service, 11 AM Saturday at Bethany Presbyterian Church. Interment at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church.
