Grace Helen Jones (nee Nash) passed away on January 26, 2026. Grace was born at home to Ambrose and Helen Nash on Mothers Day, May 10, 1931 in Troy, NY. She was the third oldest child and pre-deceased by her brothers Billy, Ambrose, Ned, and Helen Mary and nephew Brian White. She is survived by her husband Joseph, and her 5 children: Christopher, Thomas, Helen (Ackert), Andrew, and Daniel.
Grace graduated from Catholic Central High School in Troy, NY in 1949. Shortly after graduation, she enrolled in nursing school at the former St. Mary's Hospital on Genesee St. in Rochester, NY — graduating in 1953. It was in Rochester that she met Joseph Jones of Hornell, NY at a dance at St. Mary’s — they married on September 17, 1955. Grace chose to be a stay-at-home mom and raised her five children on Magee Avenue in Rochester's 10th Ward district. She was also the grandmother of nine beautiful grandchildren: Charlene, Travis, Ian, Grant, Samantha, Madeline, Jessica, Jarrad, and Alanna. And her sweet great grandchildren: Phoenix, Elias, Benvolio and Andrew Joseph. Grace strongly believed the most important thing in life was family. She’d say, “Family is everything. You go to the well for them."
Grace was passionate about the elderly and worked as a nurse at Aberdeen Nursing Home part-time for 8 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral for 62 years where she was one of the first Eucharist ministers chosen.
