Hans "Pete" Witte

Passed away May 5, 2025 at the age of 89 due to complications of Alzheimer's Disease. Peter is predeceased by his parents Hildegard and John Witte; brother Steven, and wife Paula VanderStouw Witte. He is survived by his wife, Florence, children Kristine (Robert) Stehler, and Timothy (Kim Fisher) Witte; stepchildren Mark (Meg) VanderStouw, Scott (Janelle) VanderStouw, Victoria (Joseph) Snowden, Thomas A. (Lisa) Sugden, grandchildren Jared (Melissa) Stehler, Bryan (Jenna) Stehler, Amanda (Jesse) Carson, Jake Witte, Ben VanderStouw, Emmett VanderStouw, Thomas Snowden, Robert Snowden, Shane Sugden, Julia Sugden; great grandchildren Theodore, Nathan, Mae, and Lucy along with many nieces and nephews and sister and brother in-laws.

Peter was born in Buffalo, NY, and moved to Rochester while attending RIT (ENG58). He retired from Bausch & Lomb where he was a Mechanical Engineer starting as an intern. He also found time to volunteer for Otetiana Council BSA, Parents Without Partners and ADK over the years. He was an avid steam train and auto racing enthusiast and enjoyed many years of camping and hiking in the Adirondacks as well as many states and several countries.

Calling hours will be held 4-6pm Friday May 9th at Farrell-Ryan Funeral & Cremation Services 777 Long Pond Road with a funeral service to follow at 6pm.

Peter was a very caring person with a wonderful smile for all.
