Heather Marie Diederich, 45, passed peacefully on December 26, 2025, at the hospital following her journey with stage IV breast cancer.While her time with us was far too short, Heather filled the lives of those around her with laughter, creativity, kindness, and unconditional love. She will be remembered not for her illness, but for the joy she brought to her family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know her.Heather was a loving mother, a devoted life partner, and a cherished member of her family. She shared her life with her beloved partner, Anne Samuel, whose unwavering love, care, and devotion remained a constant source of strength and comfort throughout their years together. Their relationship was built on love, friendsship, loyalty, and an unbreakable bond.Heather had a personality that was impossible to forget. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a quick wit, and a way of making people laugh, even during difficult times. Those who knew her often joked about her famous "resting bitch face," but they also knew that behind it was one of the kindest, sweetest, and most compassionate hearts imaginable. She wore her heart on her sleeve and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
A gifted crafter, Heather could crochet just about anything she set her mind to. She also loved cooking, crafting, and creating things that brought comfort and happiness to the people she loved.Heather found joy in life's simple treasures. She had a deep love for animals, especially owls and sloths. She adored roses, loved the color yellow, and never outgrew the magic of Alice in Wonderland. Halloween was her favorite holiday, and she delighted in all things spooky, embracing every opportunity to celebrate the season she loved most.Whether she was crocheting a handmade gift, admiring a rose, decorating for Halloween, or laughing with the people she loved, Heather found beauty in life's simple moments and shared that joy generously with others.Above all else, Heather loved her family. Whether she was sharing a laugh, offering encouragement, or simply being present, she made those around her feel accepted, cared for, and loved. Those memories will remain a lasting gift to everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
Heather is survived by her beloved life partner, Anne Samuel; her eight children, Deacon,Demetrius, Ethan, Chester, Jesse, Samantha Samuel, Alex Samuel, and Kyiah Wiley; her aunt and uncle, Nancy and Louis Vassallo; her cousins, Michelle Vassallo and Lisa Vassallo; her siblings, Cheryl Detlor, Teresa Brown, and Cory Nash; her nieces, Melodie Farnan, Dana Brown, Alexandria Brown, Brenna Wilcox, Gwyneth Wilcox, and Maya Nash; her nephews, Scott Schultz and Emmett Nash; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing her.
