Irving C. Schafer

Irving “Irv” C. Schafer passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne Schafer; his children, Keith (Lynn) Schafer, Jeff (Josie) Schafer, Kris Murante, Beth (Jason) Smalling, and Katie (Dino) Diakomihalis; and several cherished grandchildren Michael, Samantha, Audrey, Tyson, Zoe, Yianna Rex and Liv.

Irv was a proud, longtime member of American Legion Post #468. He enjoyed hunting and golfing and was an avid bowler who took great pride and joy in the sport. A proud Marine and a retiree of Kodak, Irv valued time spent with family and friends above all else.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held privately for the family.

A Celebration of Life will be held for friends and family at American Legion Post #468, 344 Dorsey Road, Greece, NY, on Saturday, January 10, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please join us to share laughs and memories, as that is what Irv would have wanted most.
