Janet B. Baker

Janet B. Baker, born December 7, 1940, in Batavia, New York, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. She was 84.

Janet was predeceased by her beloved husband, David; her cherished son, Randal; and her dear sisters, Carol and Sharon. She is survived by her children: David Jr. (Susan), Jill Valle (Bill), daughter-in-law, Christine Baker-Marriage (Rob) ; her loving sisters, Valerie, Susan, Nancy, Elaine; her brothers, Raymond; sister-in-law, Sharon Sullivan; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; special godson, and many nieces and nephews.

Janet’s life was one of strength and resilience. She faced life's many challenges with grace, and in doing so, passed on to her family the courage and determination that defined her. Her unwavering devotion to her family was the foundation of her life. She gave endlessly—her time, her love, and her heart—never asking for anything in return.

A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Janet found her greatest joy in the love of her family. Her selflessness and generous spirit left a lasting mark on all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she nurtured, guided, and loved so deeply.

Funeral services will be held on July 7 at 11:00am at St. Mark’s Church at 54 Kuhn Rd., Rochester, NY 14612. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

She will be dearly missed and forever remembered. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pluta Cancer Center in Janet’s memory.
