Doud, John T.
Rochester: Peacefully, January 14, 2017, after a short illness, at age 91. Survived by his wife, Jean; and his children, Kathleen (Bruno) Capomaccio, Gregory (Grace), Thomas (Robin), Michael (Florence) and Terrence (Patricia); and Jean's children, James (Fran) Sweeney & Susan (Bruce Almekinder) Reeners. John (and Jean) have 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, William & Richard Doud, and Alice McGlynn and their families. He was predeceased by his father, Alfred; mother, Hilda (Burns); and half-sister, Madeline Heslip. John is a graduate of St. Boniface, Aquinas Institute, and Niagara University. He was a WWII veteran, having flown 17 missions with the 73rd Bomb Wing in Saipan. He retired as a Major from the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He achieved career success in advertising and public relations, and in 1972, started a local advertising publication, retiring in 1987. The family would like to thank the staff at Hildebrandt Hospice for their care and compassion.
Friends may call Wed., 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 777 Long Pond Rd. (between English & Latta). Funeral Mass, 9:30 AM Thurs. at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Inurnment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aquinas Institute or Hildebrandt Hospice.
