Julio Rivera

Born on October 17, 1942, in Naranjito, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, at the age of 82.

He was predeceased by his parents, Julian Rivera-Ortiz and Maria Lopez-Lopez, as well as 15 siblings.

Julio is survived by his devoted wife, Margarita Rivera, and his loving children: Jorge, Harvey (Milagros), Jesus, Sonia, Alvin (Ann), Julio Jr., Elizabeth (Eduardo), Marybelle (Resti), Michelle (Eric), Julio (Noma), Margarita (Felipe), and Jennifer (Ismael). He is also survived by his brother, Marcelino Lopez, along with a host of cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A lifelong Catholic, Julio was a faithful parishioner of St. Michael’s Church, where his strong faith guided his life. He will be remembered as a man of deep faith, humility, and compassion, and as an absolute joy to be around. His warmth and kindness touched all who knew him, and his legacy of love will live on through his family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 4–7 PM at Farrell Ryan Funeral Home. A celebration of life and a Catholic Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Michael’s Church, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Julio’s memory to the Aurora House, or to the Alzheimer’s Association under Team Rivera.
