Marianne Pospula

Marianne Pospula, age 77, unexpectedly passed away on May 8, 2026. She was born on August 9, 1948. Marianne was the devoted wife of James Pospula, her partner of more than 50 years. She is survived by her daughter Amy (Joe) Notaro, her beloved granddaughter Hailey Notaro—who lovingly called her Mimi—and her faithful dog Nugget. Marianne was predeceased by her parents and by her adored son James “Jamie” Pospula.

Marianne worked for more than 35 years as a professional receptionist at Rochester Allergy Associates, including the last five years at Strong Hospital. She was known for her steady presence, kindness to patients and colleagues, and the quiet competence she brought to every day of work. Marianne lived her life for her children and granddaughter. She was generous, loving, and endlessly caring, always active and always present for family traditions. She delighted in small pleasures and creative pursuits: she loved books, her Netflix and Hallmark stories, sewing, Diamond Art, and spending sunny afternoons lying by her pool. Marianne loved to dance, and she took joy in making the most elaborately designed birthday gifts for those she loved. Holidays—especially Christmas and birthdays—were sacred to her, and she kept traditions alive with thoughtful detail and warmth.

Marianne’s greatest pride was her family. She poured herself into raising her children and into being the best “Mimi” to Hailey. Her generosity and care were felt in every holiday, every handmade gift, and every quiet moment she shared. Those who knew her will remember her creativity, her steady devotion, and the way she made ordinary days feel special.
