Listen to Obituary

Mark Francis Sawicki, born June 16, 1946, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, passed away March 2, 2026 at Unity Hospital, surrounded in love by family. He is survived by his wife, Linda, daughters Lisa (Michael) Cooke, and Laura Sawicki, grandchildren, Emma, Logan, and Ryan Cooke, siblings Mary Beth (Bob Cone) Cook, Karl (Brenda) Sawicki, Anita (Tony) D’Agostino, and Paul (Kathy) Sawicki, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Irene Sawicki, his beloved aunt and uncle Sophie and Frank Kowalski, as well as his in-laws Raymond and Irma McElligott. Mark retired from Eastman KODAK after many years as a tool and die maker.

Mark was immensely proud of and dedicated to his family. He attended many school and sports events to watch and cheer on his grandchildren. He loved attending family parties, celebrating births, birthdays, and accomplishments for his nieces, nephews, and their children; you name it, he was there.

Mark had a dry sense of humor and a quick wit. He was easy to talk to and well-known wherever he frequented, including Bill Grays on North Greece Road. He had many friends who shared his interest in Corvettes and accompanied him to Carlisle, PA, to wander the Corvette show. Mark loved to share a beer and “shoot the shit” with friends while watching the traffic go by his home. He loved a good steak or burger, Tuesday night pizza and wings, and always enjoyed a handful of salty pretzels. The man could fix almost anything, but if he couldn’t, he “knew a guy”. He would do anything to help a friend or family member who needed it, and never expected anything in return.

Calling hours will take place at Farrell-Ryan Funeral and Cremation Services on Tuesday, March 17th from 4-6pm. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, March 18th, with internment celebrated at Holy Ghost Cemetery.

In honor of Mark’s memory, we ask that you take the time to enjoy a conversation with a friend, appreciate those around you, and drive with your windows down on a sunny day, preferably in a corvette. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to make a donation in Mark’s name to the Golisano Children' s Hospital.
