Max, named after two great uncles of his mother, was born September 26, 2003, in Rochester, NY, to Stephen and Colleen Meinhold Tyler. In addition to his parents, Max is survived by his brothers Chase and Elijah, and sister-in-law Christina, of Greece, grandmother Barbara Meinhold of Amherst, uncle Richard (Lori) Meinhold of Orchard Park, aunt Mary (Art) Converse of St. Augustine, Fl., and many cousins.
He was a 2021 graduate of Greece Arcadia High School, where he participated on the chess, Masterminds, cross country, indoor track, golf, and tennis teams. Energetic, curious, and impetuous, Max was described as “marching to the beat of his own drum.” A giving soul and a hard worker, he liked to work with his father fixing cars. A consummate gamer, he participated in several gaming groups in Greece, playing Dungeons and Dragons and Magic the Gathering, in addition to playing games online with friends from around the globe. Trivia night with Chase at Russell Station was a recent favorite activity, as well as playing Dominion with his brothers and sister-in-law. He was also a fan of the Amerks and the Red Wings, going to games with his family when he could. He swam with the Northwest YMCA Stingrays for many years before becoming a BSA Lifeguard, working summers at Camp Cutler. His love for water extended to sailing on Irondequoit Bay with Sea Scout Ship 303. At 20 years old, he traveled to northern Europe on his own. He worked full-time at Alro Steel and part-time at AMF Dewey Gardens, eventually leaving Alro to work full-time as an assistant manager for Bowlero/AMF at Dewey Gardens Lanes, often substituting at Fairview Lanes and Bowlero Rochester on Empire Boulevard.
He will be missed by his family, friends, and coworkers, and leaves a huge hole in this world and in the hearts of those who knew him.
