We are greatly saddened to announce the passing of our Beloved Mother, Mildred M. Crittenden, on May 6th, 2025, who is now with her beloved husband, Jack and the Lord. Midge was blessed to celebrate her 100th birthday with family and friends recently.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Herbert (Jack) Crittenden whom she was happily married to for 69 years. Predeceased by her parents, Hilda and Herbert Elphick; Brother Albert Elphick and son-in-law Barry W. Welch.
She is survived by her children Suzanne (Crittenden) Welch, and David J. (Natalie) Crittenden
She is also survived by her grandchildren Alyssa (James Demallie) Welch, Karen (William Parker) Welch, Evan Crittenden, and Allen Briggs, as well as her beloved sister-in-law Jean Elphick and extended family in England.
Survived by her many close friends, including Kathy O’Leary, Sharon Sullivan and Annmarie Jermyn, as well as the staff and nurses who cared for her at Aaron Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Midge was a member of the English Cuppa Club as well as The Church of the Ascension, where she was a long-time member.
Midge was also a WWII veteran, serving in the WRENS (Women's Royal Naval Services) from 1942 to 1945, working with U.S servicemen coming from the U.S to many ports, including Oran, Algiers, and Naples, where Midge was stationed.
Calling hours will be held 4:00pm-5:30 pm May 21st at Farrell-Ryan Funeral and Cremation Services, 777 Long Pond Road with a funeral service to follow at 5:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of the Ascension or to Lollypop Farm.
