Rosemary S. Pettis

Passed away October 21, 2025 at age 79. She is predeceased by her parents Marco and Norah Scalzo. Survived by her children Matthew (Susan) Pettis of Pinehurst, NC, and Lisa (Scott) Lavigne of Wake Forest, NC; grandchildren Carley, Kyle, Jacob, MeKenzie, Emily, and Joseph; brother Mark (Linda) Scalzo of Henrietta, NY; and beloved nieces and cousins. Rosemary was a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy High School. She retired from an administration role in the New York State Court System. In 2009 she relocated to Raleigh NC to be with her beloved family. Rosie was devoted in her faith and a fierce prayer warrior. All who knew her loved her. Despite heath struggles with heart disease and breast cancer she remained positive, joyful and encouraging to all. Her unconditional love was a rare gift ! Her beautiful, generous spirit will be deeply missed. Farewell sweet Rosie until we meet again in HIS glory! Calling hours will be held (2-4 PM) on Sunday October 26 at Farrell-Ryan Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral mass 12 PM Monday October 27 at St. Mark’s Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
