Shirley Burke Locke

Shirley died on September 2, 2022 at age 94, surrounded by her loving family after a short illness at Unity Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Caroline and Richard Burke, and her husband, Robin, in 1997.

Shirley will be remembered by her family as a devout Catholic who kept her faith, her interest in others, an avid reader, a friend to many and happiest when with her loved ones.

Shirley is survived by her children: James (Noreen), Margaret (William Giser), Carolyn (Michael) Greif, Robert (Linda) and Mary (Patti Dwyer). Grandchildren: Jeffrey (Courtney), Matthew (Justin), Amy (Rory), Sean, Erin (Tony), Sheila (Amitai), Kevin (Emma), Patrick (Carmen), Daniel, Christopher and Michael. She was delighted by her great-grandchildren: Rianne, Evan, Nora, James, Victor, Connor and Harper. Special niece, Betsy Oberst.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 7, from 4-7pm, at Farrell Ryan Funeral Home, 777 Long Pond Road. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 8, at 10:30am at Mother of Sorrows, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd., 14612. Interment at Holy Sepulchre to follow.
