William S. Williamson

William S. Williamson (aka Bill, Daddy, Dad, Poppy) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, on April 22, 1938, and later moving to Rochester, NY to attend the University of Rochester (UR), Bill supported his family as an industrial engineer at Kodak.

His favorite things were going out to breakfast and dinner; working out at the gym; watching Jeopardy!; doing crossword puzzles, the Jumble, and Wordle; reading crime fiction; and sitting on the porch. He loved each activity even more if his family was with him. He also enjoyed coordinating the UR Psi U news, meeting regularly with his fellow Kodak retirees, and arranging an annual dinner with his Maplewood Y friends.

Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary; his children, Billy Williamson (Kris Vinci Regan), Robin Williamson, and Meghan Williamson Manges (Howard); and his grandson, Austin. We all know how to design a workout routine, decorate our living rooms, shop for the best deal, and advocate for ourselves and our loved ones because of him. We will think of him every time we select our payment credit card based on the quarterly category earning 5%.

We will not be having calling hours or a service but will instead be having a family pizza night around his favorite big square table to say cheers and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association.
